About RAIN
The Rensselaer Alumni Investor Network (RAIN) mission is to invest in RPI Entrepreneurs and draw attention to their amazing startups. We seek to invest and facilitate curated introductions. Participation is open to all alumni, their family, faculty, staff or administration. Investment is limited to accredited investors.
The Network has a strong preference for startups with a RPI connection to their founders, management team or IP, however we also look at companies in fields of technology being pioneered at RPI.
Rensselaer’s RAIN LLC. is managed by a group of passionate volunteer alumni who support RPI entrepreneurs and participate in the global startup ecosystem.
While we’re not legally affiliated with the Institute or its Alumni Association, we’re driven by the same spirit of progress and innovation of RPI’s founder Stephen van Rensselaer. We aspire to advance his ideas which have been embodied at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for 200 years.

Participation is open to all alumni and their family, faculty, staff or administration.
We seek to bring value to the startups we fund through mentorship, networking and expertise.
We invest in a range of sectors, geographies and stages.
For Investors
Accredited investors who are RPI alumni, faculty or staff and immediate family members are eligible to invest, as well as select accredited investors with relevant technical (or industry) expertise.
